Bamiyan Business Center/Friendship Center An important aspect of leadership and training in the MAFS’ goals is improvement in computer skills and opening up the world to the Afghans. To this end, MAFS, in partnership with the Korean Foundation, sponsored and built the first internet café in Bamiyan. Known as the Bamiyan Business Center /Friendship Center, it was opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony and speeches by government leaders during our trip in June. Dr. Zack Taylor cut the ribbon and welcomed all of the people of Bamiyan to the center during opening remarks. The center has 12 modern computers for open use by men and women. From follow-up visits in September, the center is a popular, frequently used facility for student, teachers, and every day people.
